Whilst visiting someone for ta’ziyat recently, Shaykh mentioned:
“If we were involved in a court case and someone told us that if durood shareef is read 100,000 times we would be guaranteed to win the case, what would we do?
We would immediately start organising and distributing the recital of durood shareef between our friends and relatives in order to complete the required quantity.
The deceased is about to be summoned to the Court of Allah, but how much concern do we have for his success?”

On Thursday nights our respected Shaykh usually advises those present to do the following actions in order to gain maximum benefit from the blessed day of Friday.
Salaat and Salaam
“As soon as one completes the Maghrib Salaah on Thursday night he should begin to increase the recitation of Salaat and Salaam upon the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam.
On Friday one should increase the quantity of Salaat and Salaam read. An apt number would be to aim to recite Durood 300 times daily, and increase it to 1000 times on Friday.

“We should aim to recite durood at least 300 times daily. An easy method of doing this is to recite sallahu alayhi wasallam and after every 10-20 repetitions to recite the Durood Ibraheemi (the durood read in Salah). On Fridays the quantity of Durood read should be increased.
After we have become habituated to the above quantity we should endeavour to increase the quantity we recite daily. One of the blessings of reciting Durood on a regular basis is that one is given great barakah in his time.”

“A father and son were once travelling on a journey when the father was unexpectedly taken ill. The illness was fatal and the father died. As soon as he passed away, the father’s face turned extremely black.
The son was greatly perturbed by this situation. However the weariness of the journey overtook him and the son fell asleep.

Listed below are some useful ways, from the teachings of Shaykh, aimed at creating the true love for our Beloved Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wasallam:
1. Recite durood at least 300 times daily. An easy method is to recite sallallahu alayhi wassallam, and read Durood Ibrahim, after every ten of the short durood.
2. Increase the recitation of durood on Friday because the reward increases manifold.
3. Try to recite ‘40 Salaat and Salaam’ daily. If not, then at least weekly on Friday.
4. Study the Sunnah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and aim to bring into practice each and every action.
5. Read the Seerah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

“The Ulamaa have written that with any good action the possibility of it being rejected in the court of Allah always exists. The exception to this is the act of reciting durood upon the Prophet sallahu alayhi wasallam. This action is always accepted.
It is for this reason that the Ulamaa recommend that one should start and end his duaa with durood. If Allah ta’ala accepts the durood which is at the beginning and at the end then it is reasonable to expect that Allah ta’ala will accept the duaa that is in the middle too.”

“Many people would write to Shaykh ul Hadith Zakariyah rahmatullahi alayh regarding issues and problems that they were facing in their day to day lives.
In reply, the respected Shaykh would provide words of comfort and highlight any strategy or duaa that would be of aid to that person in their particular situation.
However, a common factor in all the respected Shaykh’s replies, was that he would recommend the reading of Durood in abundance.”

“Sending salutations upon the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam is a very blessed action. It is so blessed that even the angels and Allah ta’ala himself send blessing upon the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam.”

I have heard Shaykh say the following:
“A very easy way to acquire the love of Allah is to take at least a few minutes out daily to ponder upon the gifts of Allah. When a person does this he will realise his indebtedness to Allah, and how much Allah has done for him. Very soon he will find a deep love forming and increasing for Allah”.
