“After Ramadhan passes it is obvious that we will not experience the same blessings that are found in this great month.

However the ending of Ramadhan should not mean that we end all the worship and good habits we had inculcated in Ramadhan.

As soon as Ramadhan ends we should try and continue with as much as we can.”

“One should make the most of Ramadhan until the very last moments. Even after Maghrib Salaah, on the 29th day one should stay busy in Ibaadah.

Many people get distracted in this final stage and in this there are two harms. (more…)

“When the great scholar, Shaykh Ibn Taymiyah, rahamataullahi alyah would come across a verse of the Qur’aan which he would find some difficulty in understanding, then he would close his books and go outside.

He would roll around in the sand and adopt the state of a pitiful beggar. In this state he would then turn to Allah and say:

O the one who granted understanding to Suleyman, grant me understanding. O the one who taught Adam and Ibraheem teach me.

Shaykh Ibn Taymiyah would continue supplicating in this manner for a prolonged period.

And after this supplication Allah ta’ala would bless the Shaykh by directing him towards the right answer.”

“Remember intentions play a very important role. If a person listens to a lecture just to acquire reward then he will recieve reward.

If he listens only to increase his knowledge then he will acquire knowledge.

The main intention that one should have when listening to a lecture is to inculcate what is being taught into his life.”

“The core objective of Tazkiyah is to acquire Abdiyat. The definition of Abdiyat is that one becomes a true slave of Allah ta’ala.

A slave at all times thinks of himself as nothing. It does not matter what admirable qualities he may possess the slave constantly knows his status.

This is how one’s relationship should be with at Allah ta’ala.

One should submit to Him, attribute all goodness to Him, and know that everything that one has is from Him and belongs to him.”

“The term Taqwa means to abstain. More specifically Taqwa means to abstain from the disobedience of Allah ta’ala.

When a person keeps a fast he has only one thing on his mind. That is, he needs to abstain from all those things which break has fast.

And this is why the month of Ramadhan is deemed a training ground for the acquisition of the quality of Taqwa.”
