“When trying to abstain from impious company a person should keep two things in mind. The first point is that one should tell himself that I am staying away from such a person not because he is impious but because I have negative qualities within me which I do not wish them to pass on to him.
The second point is that one should not get carried away and become overzealous in this endeavour.
Some people go to extremes and even stay away from members of their family. Thus they inadvertently fail to fulfil their rights and needs.”
