The Tortoise and the Hare Saturday, June 3, 2006

A couple of days ago, Shaykh was encouraging a few of us to be active and work for Allah, even though it may be little and slow, rather than quick and then stopping. He then said something that strikes a chord in the heart:

It is better to be a tortoise, that works slowly and continuously in rhythm, than the hare who works fast in the initial stages and then quickly becomes tired, and falls asleep.

He then narrated a Hadeeth of our beloved Messenger of Allah sallahu alayhi wasallam – To the nearest meaning and effect:

The most beloved deed to Allah The Most High is the one that is done with continuity, no matter how small.

Subhanallah, these words benefited me a lot. I think this blog is a great idea, as these words of Shaykh could have been lost forever!
May Allah take this idea from strength to strength. Ameen.
